CARBON SEQUESTRATION IS THE PROCESS BY WHICH ATMOSPHERIC CARBON DIOXIDE IS TAKEN UP BY TREES, GRASSES, AND OTHER PLANTS THROUGH PHOTOSYNTHESIS AND STORED AS CARBON IN TRUNKS, BRANCHES, FOLIAGE, AND ROOTS AND SOILS.
WE ARE carbon neutral by practicing sustainable forestry practices. For example, planting new trees, harvesting and regenerating forests are some of the ways we increase forest carbon in the long run. This results in net carbon sequestration in wood products and new forest growth, along with enhancing other ecosystem services such as improved soil and water quality.
